Ferrari is recalling over 2,000 cars in China due to a potential brake issue, according to the country's regulator.

According to Reuters, the problem affects 2,222 automobiles imported to China between March 2010 and March 2019, including coupe, Spider, and hardcore Speciale versions of the mid-engine 458, as well as coupe, Spider, and hardcore Speciale versions of the mid-engine 458, among others. However, because manufacture of those vehicles ended in 2015, the recall must also apply to the 458 GTB's replacement, the turbocharged 488 GTB, and its Spider model. Surprisingly, the recall, which begins on May 30, only impacts 458 copies of each of the 458 varieties, according to the same story.

Ferrari has yet to respond to the news, but it appears that China is late to the Ferrari recall party, which was announced in November. Or perhaps that should be early since, despite revealing in late 2021 that it was looking into 458 and 488 models for a possible brake fluid leak that might result in a loss of braking power, it still hadn't found a solution.

The problem impacted the 2010-15 458 Italia, 2014-15 458 Speciale, 2015 Speciale A, 2012-15 458 Spider, 2016-19 488 GTB, and 2016-19 488 Spider, however Ferrari had not yet discovered the cause of the problem, how many cars were affected, or how to remedy them at the time of the announcement.

If a car has a problem and the brake fluid level in the reservoir has decreased by 52 percent, the driver will see a notification on the dashboard that says "Brake fluid level low, Go to dealer gently," according to Ferrari. A warning light with an audio indication will also show on the dash to alert the driver.

Rather of following those directions, the firm advises owners to pull over to the side of the road and contact Ferrari roadside service as soon as they see the warning message. It also claims that owners of its sports vehicles made between 2010 and 2019, like as the F8 Tributo, are unaffected since they were constructed with different brake components.
